The University provides a stimulating OH environment, because of its rich portfolio of world-class research and its varied occupations and organisational cultures. The OHS covers the University's 8,000 staff and the OH (but not primary care) needs of its students. The OHS also advises some external clients and an expansion would be encouraged. In all aspects, the University promotes a proactive, strategic, and business-like approach to OH. The OHS currently has 3 nurse posts, 1.7 FTE medical posts, 2.6 clerical posts and a panel of external counsellors. It has well-equipped premises in central Oxford, shared with the University Safety Office. The University has excellent library and IT resources, offers a contributory pension scheme, and car parking. Joining a friendly team, led by a part-time consultant, you will be responsible for all day-to-day operations and will lead on strategic issues according to your background and interests. You will have a recognised OH qualification and at least 2 years experience in a senior role, with responsibility for junior staff and/or personal responsibility for a particular sector of OH work. Experience in respiratory health surveillance, immunisations, and ergonomic assessments is essential. Previous experience advising a university would be an advantage. Further particulars from Mrs J.
