it's annual conference in The Hague, The Netherlands, from June 15 to 21
2002. Activities will include training courses, special sessions,
workshops, and technical visits.
The Conference will include a workshop on Natural Disaster Recovery -

contribute to improving disaster recovery.
Three sessions are planned for the workshop:
Session One: Experiences to Date. Objective: To identify how impact
assessment has been used in, and contributed to, the reduction of human
suffering and facilitated recovery after disasters.
Session Two: Environmental Impact and Disaster Relief: Practical Problems
and Practical Solutions. Objective: To identify how environmental impact
assessment has or can impact recovery and reduce negative environmental
impact during and following disasters.
Session Three: Disasters and Impact Assessment: Is There A Future?

to disaster recovery, and how to strengthen this contribution.
The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for members of the
disaster management and impact assessment communities to share experiences
and knowledge.
