‘Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness among NGOs in Gujarat State, India’
has just been published online. This is a short (6-page) research paper
based on data collected from 11 NGOs by the Disaster Mitigation Institute
in Ahmedabad and analysed by the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at
University College London.
The inspiration for the paper was the British Red Cross’s research project
on NGOs in disaster preparedness and mitigation, which looked at NGO
activities in Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe, as well
as international relief and development NGOs based in the UK.
You can download the paper from http://www.redcross.org.uk/dmp which also
has the research papers from the British Red Cross research project.
