Announcement: the ProVention Consortium's Applied Grants for Disaster Risk
Reduction
Earlier this month at the ProVention Consortium's conference, "The Future
of Disaster Risk: Building Safer Cities," there was a brief announcement
concerning a new program that may be of interest to you and your
colleagues.
This email serves as the formal inauguration of the ProVention Consortium's
program for Applied Grants for Disaster Risk Reduction. It will provide
approximately 80 small grants to nationals of developing countries for
applied research, internships and professional development over a six-month
period. This grant program is coordinated by the University of Wisconsin-
Madison's Disaster Management Center and administered in collaboration with
the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, the Cranfield Disaster Management
Centre.
Proposals should be received by the ProVention Consortium no later than 28
February, 2003. Awards will be announced on 30 April, 2003, and all funded
grant activities must be completed by 31 October, 2003.
