Dear Colleague,
We invite you to contribute a paper to the ACS Symposium on Dynamics at
Interfaces sponsored by the Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry to
be held as part of the 224th ACS, National Meeting, Boston, MA (August
18-22, 2002). The deadline for submission of Abstracts (see
http://oasys.acs.org for details) is April 15th, 2002.
The flavor of this symposium is provided in the official announcement:
Dynamics at Interfaces. Surfaces and interfaces are dynamic environments.
Even at equilibrium, adsorbed atoms and molecules are in motion. They
undergo changes in site, conformation and orientation. Indeed, the
dynamic nature of the interface is key to many of its properties. This
symposium seeks to bring together experimentalists and theorists who are
interested in the dynamics of various interfaces including solid-gas,
solid-liquid, liquid-liquid and solid-solid. Topics of interest include,
but are not limited to:
Dynamics near or far from equilibrium
Time-resolved studies of surface processes
Novel methods and probes of dynamics at interfaces
Phase transitions in two dimensions
We look forward to a lively and exciting meeting. A number of other
interesting symposia are being organized by the Division of Colloid and
Surface Chemistry as you can see in the web page
(http://fenske.che.psu.edu/faculty/nagarajan/BOSTON-MEETING.html).
