Dear MDN colleagues:
We would appreciate very much if you would bring the following
opportunities to the attention of your students and colleagues. Thanks
very much!
Research Positions at the Weizmann Institute of Science, available
immediately
The Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel seeks experimentalist
post-doctoral fellows and graduate students to study laser-based
coherent control of chemical reactions. Our experiments are conducted
by Visiting Professor Mark Keil in collaboration with theoretical work
by Professor Moshe Shapiro, and are being developed for many other
systems of chemical and practical interest. The project is conducted in
conjunction with the COCOMO collaboration of the E.U. There will also
be opportunities for travel and collaboration to Europe and Canada.
The Weizmann Institute is a premier research institute in Rehovot,
Israel. In addition to graduate students and large faculties in
Chemistry, Physics, and Life, Materials, and Coomputer Sciences, it
hosts several hundred overseas researchers and is a rich centre of
diversity and scientific collaboration. The campus and town are safe
and pleasant and offer unparalleled access to nearby historical and
religious sites.
Experience with any of the following will be helpful: pulsed lasers,
spectroscopy, non-linear optics, interferometry, molecular beams, vacuum
systems. Please e-mail, write, or call with c.v. and names of three
