Dear Ben
I would like to bring to your attention myCodePlace. It is a new NHSnet web
based utility that enables online input of requests to the NHS Information
Authority Requests Database.
Currently, the NHSIA Help Desk receives Clinical Terms (The Read Codes)
change requests via email, paper, fax and telephone. Subsequently, these are
entered manually onto an Oracle Requests Database. This system incurs delay
as the requests are not readily available for clinical authoring and peer
review. myCodePlace streamlines the current system as requests are read
directly to the Requests Database. This enables the Clinical Terminology
Authors to achieve a quicker turnaround of your requests
myCodePlace assigns a Request ID which will enable you to track and trace
your requests. A clinical author will email you a provisional response as
soon as your request is processed. A Final Report will be emailed after the
finalisation of the Clinical Terms (The Read Codes) Release.
To view myCodePlace please log on at http://nww.rcr.nhs.uk using the
Password "readcodes". Use "Change My Details" (see menu) to individualise
your password. Additionally, please check that your registration details are
complete and correct, and amend if necessary.
Please take a few minutes to tour the menu to familiarise yourself with the
various screens and contact details. Further information on myCodePlace can
be found at <http:// nww.nhsia.nhs.uk /terms/pages/c_request.asp
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the last
date for receipt of requests for inclusion in the March 2003 Read Codes
Release is 13 December 2002. Please note that multiple requests (10 or more)
should be submitted two weeks in advance of the closing date, to allow
sufficient time for processing. More details are available at
http://nww.nhsia.nhs.uk/terms/pages/faq.asp
If you have any queries please contact the helpdesk in the first instance
Thank you
