Just to add to Noel Kirshenbaum's comment:- montan wax was, i believe,
commercially produced in Britain, from the lignite deposits in the
Bovey Basin near Newton Abbot. But it was produced by Germans just
prior to the outbreak of the First World War, it did not recommence
when hostilities ceased.
