I have heard of chatter in connection with stone crushing. I think it is a
particular size, may be small. Rag is defined in my dictionary as rough hard
stone so may be ragging is another form of this. Toggles in a jaw crusher are
the levers that increase the pressure. The jaw is linked to a fixed point by
two toggles which are angled together. When the angle is widened, great
force is applied which increases, the wider the angle. I had planned to
include a diagram but the history list will not accept one. Could send
direct if you like.
For chilled, my dictionary mentions hardening iron by chilling so presumably
it is the reverse of heat treating to create particular properties in the
steel. Afraid I cannot help with prills.
I expect the experts will tell you that this is all wrong!
