I'll open the bidding with a dynamite explosion at Ansley Hall Colliery
on the 4th November 1880, when a man was injured by holding a cartridge
in one hand, and tapping it with a hammer. Case was referred to the
Explosives Inspector.
Allegedly the first use of nitroglycerine in Derbyshire was in the
driving of Magpie Sough, c1875-1880.
