This is partly a reply to Rick's message regarding an index. Firstly
though, I have spent a lot of time looking at the local papers in Cornwall,
where I'm now blessed to live, and while the MJ does give a good outline,
the papers often provide a proper filling to the sandwich. Regarding an
index, like Tony Brooks I have a fair bit of information (probably less than
him, but, for example, I have a list of >1100 mining accidents for mostly
West Cornwall) and there are other people with lists or information, some of
whom aren't either on the internet or computer literate. Should we make an
effort to centralise what information we have and locate sources of
information? Who will look after it? Should we get a small group together
to create a database then disseminate it? Is anyone interested, Tony? :-)

PS Rick, a couple of years ago I published a book on what had been
'interesting irrelevances'; as they say, it's not what you've got, it's what
you do with it!
