Frank
I am a little busy now but...
Are you sure about the name "Villa Elisa"? I can see a "Villa Alicia" in my
map and I think it can sound quite the same. It is placed at the south of
the town and I can see it in the aereal photo too. Just let me find the time
to scan it and I'll send you a copy.
Could you be more precise about the location of the mine? I am afraid that
the photo file is still too big.
Best wishes
Arturo Shaw

Subject: Cerro Muriano Copper Mine
Dear Arturo
It appears that I may have mislead you. My photographs only show details
of mine workings and a smelter in Cerro Muriano, roughly to the southeast
of the railway station in that village. Although the name of the operator
was Cordoba Copper Co Ltd and the deposit was known as the Cordoba Reef, no
part of the working was in Cordoba itself, as far as I know.
My grandfather (W P Pearce) was an engineer at the mine for seven years,
until 1919 and my father was raised there for that period. The photos that
I have were taken by them. I am also interested in locating the "Villa
Elisa", where they lived in Cerro Muriano.
If you still think that my pictures may be of use, please let me know.
Kind regards
Martin
