Ian Cowburn wrote "I fail to see why NAMHO, supposedly representing serious scientific research
(archaeological and historical) on mines, need have anything to do with
so-called 'underground explorers' who are often responsible for destruction
or removal of scientific evidence."
It seems that the problem is that Ian hasn't unravelled the acronym "NAMHO", let alone understood what it is about. Has he read its constitution? The first letter stands for "National" and the nation in question is Britain. Of course we value international links but you can't take that away. His vandals and his archaeologists and his state support are in France. We don't, in general, have as many of the same sort of any of these in Britain. There are exceptions, of course, but on balance he is in a different world and should not preach to us, especially from ignorance. One used to speak of "going native" but I suppose that's not PC.
