I am an undergraduate student at York University, studying a module -
National Identities and the British State - under David Howell. For my
assessed essay for this module I am looking at the identities of those
miners that dissented from their community's norm during the 1985-5 miners'
strike. That is, those in striking coalfields who scabbed and those in
working fields who struck.
I am sending this email out to make contact with anybody who has done
research into this particular strike - particularly who has conducted
interviews with miners who fall into the above category, or who can point
me in the direction of some useful resources (I have already found some
very valuable material in 'Red Hill', 'Thurcroft' and Richards' 'Miners on
Strike'.
Any help will be very gratefully received,
Kindest regards,
Tom Barton
