I too am looking at Hayton's Bent (inter alia), I have not come across ref
to the above Co but have local information which suggests that the mine was
working c1850, there is nothing in Bagshaw's Guide of 1851 and I am told
that there are no copper miners recorded in Shropshire in the 1851 census.
Could the William Lovett have been related to the Lovetts of Snailbeach
Mine? Snailbeach certainly looked at copper etc. by 1870 when they took a
licence to search at Cardington.
