Peases West or Roddymoor Colliery was near Crook in County Durham from 1844
until 1963. Adelaide was near Bishop Auckland, also County Durham, from 1830
to 1925.
See website of the Durham Mining Museum.

Subject: Boomerang Presentation
Hi Group
My daughter has just drawn my attention to the following "collectors item"
currently offered for sale on E Bay:-
An Australian boomerang (!) with a brass plaque engraved "Presented to Mr
Linsley engineer, (together with a tea sevice to Mrs Linsley engineer from
the workmen and friends at Peases West and Adelaide Collieries as a token of
esteem August 25th 1866".
Can anyone tell me where these pits were and perhaps add some light to this
surely unusual presentation item.
Regards
John
