I am trying to track down details regarding Eggshill Colliery in Yate. I
have two dates for closure, one pre-war and the other 1917. There is also
reference to German Prisoners of War in Yate working in the mine. The
suggestion is it was reopened/kept going with POW labour to supply the war
effort.
Any suggestions for sources of info or knowledge of similar examples??
