Barry Job is quite correct in what he says, but I plumped for HFB as he was
the only MP I could find (in my short search), an Hon. Col. (they tend to
use their title!) and had mining interests.A search on Blackett Beaumont
comes up with virtually nothing, but that does not exclude him;-
Henry Frederick Beaumont DLitt, JP, MP, 1833-1913. He was educated
at Eton
and matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1852. He was MP
(Liberal)
for the Southern Division of the West Riding 1865-1874, and for
Colne Valley
1885-1892. He was honorary Colonel of the 2nd Volunteer battalion
West
Riding Division and vice patron of the Yorkshire Archaeological
society.
A search of the Diamond Rock file in the PRO would confirm the name if he
was a Director or shareholder. I have also placed a search on the Blackett
Beaumont name as an MP with the HoC Library to see what they come up with.
Had a little time to spare as I on leave!
