Peter,
I'm definitely no geologist so I can only describe in layman's terms what I
saw.
The horizontal "adit" was through small shale with each piece of grey shale
lying vertical and ended in the same stuff. Interestingly the other inclined
"adit" was through reddy-orange slab shale ( the type you could shear like
slate) and again ended in the same. I couldn't see any mineralisation,
although in the inclined "adit" there was large amounts of soft brown
deposits (not mud) on one side (west).
