Dear list members,
As originator of the discussion on Mining Journals can I thank everyone who
has contributed so far. I hadn't realised quite how much debate it would
insight but its very good to see there are so many like-minded individuals
who feel that some form of easier accessibility to these documents, be it
wider distribution of microfiche or a digital online/CD version, would be
worth pursuing. To do this properly of course would be a massive and very
expensive operation and whether any funding body could be convinced to pay
for it is anybody's guess. I'll be happy to do some research on this subject
myself and report back if I find anything worth reporting. In the meantime
I'd be grateful to anyone who can tell me exact locations of publicly
accessible Mining Journals in the UK, especially complete runs so we can get
a good idea of the resource that currently exists. This in itself would be
useful information to many. I suggest this should be done off list however
so please contact me at address below.
