Hi List
Does anyone know anything about tin/wolfram mines near Gois in Portugal? Where is Gois I hear you ask - about 70 km east of Coimbra which is some 100 km north of Lisbon.
Possibly under the name Couto Mineiro". Mining started in 1929 for wolfram and tin but especially wolfram) managed by a British mining engineer, Stalley Mitchell, and then closed in 1944. Apparently efforts to restart in the period from about 1950 to 1973 with tin as the major target.
