An index for British and Irish mines in the MJ for 1860 is available on the
Web - http://www.exeter.ac.uk/~pfclaugh/mhinf/mj1860.htm - or as hard copy.
Some time ago I made the suggestion for a Mining Journal microfilm library -
each member contributing one year on film (costing, at the time, £35 -
current price would no doubt be greater) - but there was no interest.
Someone might like to take up the idea.
