If any of you have checked the available information on mining-history you
will know it has an international membership. For those who haven't, here
are some basic statistics - Current total membership is 362. Of these
around 250 are based in the UK or Ireland, 45 in the US, 14 in Australia.
The rest are scattered across the world, with members in Brazil, Italy,
Russia, Hungary, Argentina, Germany, France, Estonia, Spain, Mexico, Canada,
Belgium, Portugal, The Netherlands, Japan, South Africa, Luxembourg and New
Zealand.
Mining is after all an international activity and list discussion frequently
features mining outside the British Isles. Minor changes to the list remit
now reflect our diverse membership and encourage discussion outside national
boundaries. So please feel free to post messages regarding all aspects of
mining be it in the Northern Pennines or the Northern Territories, Boscawen
or Bolivia.
