While checking out a web site, for FKI Engineering, I came across a bit
about coal mining in China. The website for Brush Transformers (an FKI
subsidiary) is quoting an order from The Shenhua Group, now the biggest coal
producer in China, it says.
Having been on holiday to China once (I hope to go again one day), I was
really amazed at the primitive methods used - and that was only on the
surface for loading coal on to boats on the Yangtze.
Anyway does anyone know a good reference (in English preferably!) for
current mining in China??
Part of the text from the Brush website is below along with a link for
further info if you want to delve deeper.
--------------------
Brush Transformers have announced the signing of two major contracts with
leading Chinese coal producers. The Shenhua Group, now the biggest coal
producer in China, have placed an order for 4 x 2 MVA flameproof
transformers for their Bulianta Mine, a repeat of their purchase from Brush
Transformers last December for the Huojitu Mine. Two-thirds of the major
components of the Shenhua Project, China's first major energy project to
bring together coal mines, railways, a power station and a port, are now
completed.
Brush Transformers have also secured an order from the Yangzhou Coal Bureau
for 6 x 2 MVAs and 3 x 1.5 MVAs, along with 9 free-standing circuit
breakers, for their Jining Mine No 3. Brush Transformers first supplied to
the Yangzhou Coal Bureau in 1978.
Brush Transformers have a long history of association with China on their
flameproof products, for which they can claim several 'world firsts'.
