Michael,
THe SW Shropshire Orefield has similarities in its mineralisation to trhe
later Central Wales assemblages but is a bit less exotic in its geochem -
Pb+Zn+minor Cu. Ag grades were generally in the 3-5oz/ton bracket,
occasionally a bit better.
Oddly the Cu-Ba mineralisation in the Longmyndian (chalcocite-bornite-
baryte) worked at eg. Huglith, Westcott, cothercott carries better Ag
grades from assays of the massive copper sulphides that I have had done.
Rob Ixer and I are writing this up soon, so we'll let you know when we get
something published. Regards - John
