Have just returned from a brief holiday in Northumberland. Whilst there I
chanced upon the Woodhorn Colliery Museum (Ashington) which, I must confess,
I had not heard of before this trip.
Made a brief visit and was quite impressed with the site. They also run a
small narrow gauge railway using an ex-British Coal loco.
The two headgears are quite impressive although there was an acute staff
shortage on the day I visited so I was unable to ask many questions. Does
anyone on the list have more details about this site?
