Dear all,
A quick query, what criteria for the diagnosis of the onset of labour are
midwives using? I realise that labour is an individual process and cannot
be predetermined but I repeatedly hear that the diagnosis of labour is one
of the most important aspects of care as if made erroneously unnecessary
interventions may quickly follow. Are most using the WHO paper defining
active labour as beginning at 3 cm dilation with regular uterine activity?
Thanks
Declan
