I and some colleagues are currently planning an assessment of the needs of community-based maternity services staff in Lothian relation to working with minority ethnic women. This is part of wider work to ensure that the needs of minority ethnic women are integrated into the implementation of a recently-developed maternity services strategy.
We broadly plan to cover the experiences of staff in working to meet the needs of minority ethnic women, and their views on what would help them to meet these needs more sensitively and effectively. We are planning to carry this out through semi-structured interviews with community-based staff.
We are familiar with the work of Alison Bowes and Teresa Domkos, and Isobel Bowler - but would appreciate any suggestions people have of other relevant literature we should look at. It would also be very helpful to hear from anyone who has carried out a similar exercise recently - specifically anything they think we should know about about the process, the schedules they used, or reports on findings.
Apologies for cross-posting.
