International HTA day at NICE
-----------------------------
The Clinical Excellence conference will take place at the
Birmingham International Convention Centre from 4 to 5 December.
See us on the NCCHTA Stand (stand 83)! In addition, there will
be an International HTA Conference day on Tuesday 3 December.

Payment for Monographs plans postponed
--------------------------------------
The implementation of charges for HTA monographs will be
postponed from this autumn to June/July 2002. Further details of
the new scheme will be available from around Easter next year.
In the meantime, monographs will continue to be available as
usual - free of charge within the UK public sector provided a
work address and postcode can be supplied.

148 monographs have now been published since the start of the
programme.

viewing/download via the Publications & Projects Page as follows:
You can search for publications (and ongoing projects) by:
* Government priority area
* ICD Chapter Heading
* ICD Diseases
* Health Interventions and
* Word searches of titles and abstracts
* View a list of ALL publications
Having found a title that interests you, the following options
are available:
- executive summaries of monographs can be viewed and printed
- electronic versions of the full monograph can be downloaded
and/or viewed directly
- printed copies of full monographs can be ordered
electronically from the page (currently free to people
working in the UK public sector)
You can also fax your request to the HTA offices on 023 8059 5639
stating clearly the volume and issue number(s) and whether you
require an executive summary or the full printed version.

The HTA programme is a national programme of research established
and funded by the Department of Health's Research and Development
programme.
The HTA programme actively seeks out the questions which meet the
NHS's research needs, commissions research to meet those needs,
and communicates the findings to the NHS and its users.
The National Coordinating Centre for Health Technology Assessment
NCCHTA), based at the University of Southampton, coordinates the
HTA programme under contract from the Department of Health's RDD
Division.
