Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Journalism
£19,575 to £32,910 per annum
The School of Arts, Design, Media & Culture seeks to appoint a highly
motivated Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to its journalism team. Journalism
studies is a rapidly developing area within the highly successful Media
Academic Area of the School and we are looking to appoint someone who
will play a key role in the teaching and development of journalism
studies modules at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level.
Ideally, you will have a good honours degree in a relevant subject,
together with a professional qualification or equivalent experience.
Recent professional experience, and knowledge of current developments in
the field of journalism practice, including new media, is essential, as
is experience of teaching, preferably in higher education.
You will contribute to existing teaching on undergraduate modules in
journalism studies and will also develop your own specialist teaching
within the field. Expertise in aspects of public relations, broadcast
journalism and/or media law would be an advantage. You will also be
expected to develop a successful record of academic research and
publication.
