Hello Damian,
The episode you are referring to is entitled VANESSA'S BAD GRADE and was
first shown in the US on January 16th 1986 and was first shown in the UK on
channel 4 on June 20th of the same year. It has since then only been
repeated once by them on January 1 1996.
The BUFVC's off-air TV holdings only go back to June 1998 but the British
Film Institute could possibly have an off air recording, which you should be
able to check on their SIFT database which is viewable at the Scottish
Screen Archive (Tel: 0141-337 7400) Even if it does not appear there, it may
well be worth getting in touch with the BFI (telephone - switchboard 020
7255 1444) as the database doesn't cover all their holdings - If they do
have a copy, they can arrange for us to have a copy which we could only
supply to BUFVC members - otherwise, the BFI itself can arrange for it to be
seen to Scottish Screen Archive although this will be for on site reference
purposes as they cannot make copies.
I hope this has been of some use
