*A mediated information service could provide information in a middle
ground between reactive, individual once-only enquiries and the
slower, peer-reviewed, relatively costly (in the case of print)
generic information. Mediation imposes an active interface between
information and recipient. The NPO would provide this interface by
sifting and evaluating information and distributing it to defined
communities.
