(Apologies for cross-posting)
The current Agreement for the INSPEC bibliographic information service
from IEE expires on 31st August 2003. CHEST is currently nearing the
end of negotiations for a new Agreement for INSPEC, to run for five
years from 1st September 2003. Details have yet to be fully
confirmed but pricing for the data fee is currently expected to be as
follows:
Sept 03 - Aug 04 £8,400
Sept 04 - Aug 05 £8,800
Sept 05 - Aug 06 £9,250
Sept 06 - Aug 07 £9,700
Sept 07 - Aug 08 £10,150
An additional fee will be due for Service Provision and this
will vary depending on the Service Provider chosen. We intend to offer
Institutions a choice of as wide a wide range of Service Providers as
possible. All current Service Providers, as well as a number of
additional ones, have been invited to apply to become authorised
Service Providers under the new Agreement.
We also hope to be able to offer institutions the chance to qualify
for an early sign up discount on the first year fee once the new
Agreement has been signed. Further announcements will be made via the
CHEST Data Messenger and the CHEST-NEWS JISCmail list in the new year.
If you have any queries relating to this announcement or the current
INSPEC Agreement, please contact Tim Hobday <[log in to unmask]>
