New JISC e-Journals web site
1 October 2002
Yesterday was the last day of JISC's relationship with SwetsBlackwell
and MIMAS as the NESLI Managing Agent. JISC staff and the Journals
Working Group would like to thank to all concerned at the Managing
Agent for the achievements over the past four years.
Hazel Woodward, University Librarian at Cranfield University, said: "As
a long-standing member of the NESLI Steering Group and the Journals
Working Group, I would like to record my thanks on behalf of the JISC
community to the staff of the NESLI Managing Agent for the highly
professional way in which they have managed the NESLI service, engaged
in the e-serials debate, promoted the aims and objectives of a UK
academic site license, and delivered agreements which feature a variety
of economic models. In particular, the wide adoption of the NESLI
model license is viewed internationally as a major success story."
The new JISC journals website is launched today on 1st October 2002,
remaining at the URL http://www.nesli.ac.uk (Please note that some links
on the new site will be inactive until the new JISC website is launched
the following week). MIMAS will continue to run both this website and
the JISC e-Journals HelpDesk at [log in to unmask]
