New Arrangements for Licences for the BIDS IBSS Online Service
--------------------------------------------------------------
IBSS Online is provided free of charge to UK HE and FE institutions. However,
sites are asked to sign a licence agreement to use the service.
Until now BIDS has been the legal responsibility of the University of Bath, and
so the agreements have been between the subscribing sites and the University.
From 1st August this year, the responsibility for licensing access to this
service will transfer to IBSS which is itself a department of the British
Library of Political and Economic Science at the London School of Economics.
This message is to alert UK HE and FE licensed sites that over the next few
weeks they should expect to receive a new licence agreement from the IBSS office
for signature and return.
Contact addresses are being supplied by BIDS to IBSS on the basis of current
information. Please note that although we have made significant efforts to
check that the details we have are correct, in many cases the information was
supplied several years ago and may be out of date.
Please be assured that this re-licensing exercise will have no effect on
charging arrangements; the IBSS Online service provided by BIDS will remain free
of charge to the UK's Higher and Further Education establishments. Access to the
service will continue uninterrupted.
If you have any queries about this, please contact the IBSS Office
