Introductory Bibliography to Modern Islamic Thought
I am putting together the skeleton of a basic biliography of modern islamic
thought for an MA in Library and Information Studies at UCL and I am looking
for as much info. as possible to go through.
The bibliography is not intended to be comprehensive and will consist of an
introduction to modern Islamic thought and the modern Islamic world and the
outline of a basic bibliography with a few example titles. The period will
extend from approx. 1945, but I am particularly interested in publications
from 1970 onwards (including digital publications).
I am looking for:
1. Key authors.
2. Key texts.
I can read English, Arabic and French - titles in other languages would be
interesting, but might need a bit of explanation if you have the time! (I
can get help with German, Urdu and Spanish titles - but would struggle with
anything else).
3. Any views you have on how a bibliography such as this should be presented
and what you think it should encompass.
Any input will be acknowledged in the dissertation and gratefully received.
