My apologies to those who could not open my previous posting. Here is
the text in full:
Members of this listserve may wish to examine the draft version of the
new Library of Congress classification schedule for Islamic law (KBP),
which is now posted on the homepage of its Cataloging Policy and Support
Office. LC has been working on this, along with schedules for canon law
and Jewish law, over the last few years in an effort to complete its
full range of schedules for legal material and to facilitate the
comparative study of legal systems.
A number of scholars and institutions in the United States and other
countries have been collaborating with LC in this effort. The draft KBP
schedule is posted now to permit further comment from the widest
possible community before it is implemented at LC and subsequently
adopted by other libraries that use the LC classification system. The
URL for the posting follows.
