CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
CILIP workshop, 7 November 2002, London
Once a contract has been let, or a deal has been made with a supplier, the
buyer must ensure that the supplier meets his obligations. Traditionally
much emphasis is placed on pre-order or pre-contract award purchasing
skills, but effective ongoing contract management is an essential element in
securing value for money.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
This workshop is designed to give participants an overview of the various
contract management skills and equip participants with the skills to be more
effective and efficient in managing their suppliers. The skills learned
should help them to get better performance from suppliers, and reduce the
amount of time spent rectifying problems with internal customers and
suppliers.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* explored the contract management life cycle
* discovered how to turn around a contract that is not adding value
* looked at contract management styles
* considered the impact of change in relation to contract management
* explored the importance of compliance monitoring and measuring performance
throughout the life span of a contract
* looked at the impact of negotiation skills and communication skills on the
successful completion of a contract
This is a participative course and will involve some simple case studies.
