MANAGING PART-TIME AND CONTRACT STAFF
9 July, London
According to the Industrial Society, flexible working in its many forms can
be of considerable benefit to both organisations and individuals. Yet
managing part-time and contract staff can create tensions between the needs
of staff and the service, and also demands a different approach to
management, communication and motivation.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING:
This practical one day workshop will explore these particular challenges. It
will look at the different options for flexible work, managing and
motivating part-time and contract staff, balancing the needs of staff and
service and dealing with specific and sensitive issues.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* Considered the particular challenges posed by managing part-time and
flexible staff
* Explored the different options for flexible work: their advantages and
limitations
* Identified key management actions which will help to balance the needs of
the service and the staff
* Discussed practical ways to address specific and sensitive issues
* Exchanged ideas and expertise
* Started to prepare an action plan
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?
Managers of part-time or flexible staff or those intending to increase the
amount of flexible work in the near future.
