*Many* thanks for the huge response!
I'll summarise it properly later, but I wanted to pass on what a couple of
people have told me asap- apparently the LA information service staff will
search LISA for LA members free.
I'm not suggesting that as a replacement for us having direct LISA access,
but its worth knowing meantime!
A rough summary:
1. Do you think LISA should be provided by the LA (and later CILIP) to its
members?
All the ones I've checked said 'yes'
2. Would you want access from home and work, ie. from anywhere (rather than
limited to some institutions)?
Vast majority said 'yes', but not all
3. Would you be prepared to pay a small extra fee (say, under UK pounds
5),in addition to membership, if this was the only way LA would provide it?
Lots of 'yes', but also substantial numbers of 'yes- reluctantly' and some
'no'. Latter two responses linked to the view that we pay a large sub
already and dont get much for it (which is one I heartily agree with, by the
way!)
