INFORMATION RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATOR (Ref 436)
Admnistrative, Library and Computing Faculty Grade 3
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a person with vision and
dynamism. A full-time post is being created to co-ordinate the provision of
Information Resources for one of the UK’s newest medical schools, the
Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) on behalf of the universities of
Brighton and Sussex and the Brighton and Sussex University NHS Trust (BSUH)
and its partner institutions. The post will be for three years in the first
instance and will be located at the University of Sussex Library but will
also involve regular travel to all BSMS sites.
The successful candidate will be fully qualified in Library & Information
Science and will have at least three years’ experience in a medical library
or health sciences learning environment at a management or project-
management level. Additionally, the candidates should possess excellent ICT
skills and be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of modern
electronic information materials, should be an excellent communicator, an
efficient organiser and self motivated.

Closing date: Monday 2 September 2002. Interviews will be held on 4 October
2002. Candidates will be expected to make a 10 minute presentation at
interview on a subject to be notified, preferably using Microsoft
Powerpoint.
Salary in the range: £27,545 to £32,537 per annum
