Dear Colleagues,
As part of our Project SCIO (Social Care Information Outreach) Project which I
am managing within our Region we have adapted the NeLH Management Briefing
format for a social care audience. We are interested in evaluating our first
attempt which is on "The mental health needs of "looked after" children".

If you have any readers/users with a particular interest in social care could
you get them to look at this pilot briefing and complete the brief evaluation
form which is downloadable from the Web page. You are also welcome to make as
many paper copies/intranet versions as you would like as I am waiving copyright
on the pilot version. The evaluation form is only one page long and for it to be
useful I need it returned by Friday 20th September
(http://www.shef.ac.uk/~scharr/scare1.doc).
Of course if you have an interest or expertise in social care you are very
welcome to fill out the evaluation form - however I would recommend that you
mark it "LIBRARIAN" so that you don't confound the social care practitioner
responses.
I would also be interested in hearing from anyone else who is doing something
similar. Having neared the end of our literature review/questionnaire/interview
stage we have just been told that we have been successful in obtaining funding
to develop a course for evidence based social care information skills (one
version for practitioners and an orientation type course for NHS librarians)
I have seen the future and the future is Health and Social Care :-)
Regards
Andrew
