Dear All
We have been instructed by our purchasing secretariat that we must go to
tender to renew our journal subscriptions for next year. We are also going
to take the opportunity to amalgamate the orders for the two main libraries
in the North Western Health Board and order from the same subscription
agent, which for a number of reasons has not been done hitherto.
We are in the process of determining our decision support criteria (company
quality, product and cost) and I wonder if anyone out there has been
through a similar process. If so, could you share any tips etc, especially
with reference to what should be included in a contract.
We are including access to electronic journals as well as print
subscriptions (whether this be to the free version because we buy the print
copy, or as a chargeable add-on to the print copy) with a view to
increasing the accessibility to subscribed journals throughout the NWHB via
the Board's network (publisher licensing agreements permitting)
Any tendering advice would be much appreciated and, if at all possible,
copies of any contracts that people have with subscription agents following
a tendering process.
Thank you for any help you can give.
