Apologies for crossposting (and to those who know this already)
Good news for those of us with users who arent NHS staff!
Message from Update Software:
'A free national provision to the Cochrane Library has been set up, funded
by
the National Electronic Library for Health, the site is IP validated,
therefore as long as your machine is advertising a valid UK IP you will gain
access.
Please use the following Log On Page
http://www.update-software.com/clibng/cliblogon.htm.
You can then access by clicking the LOG ON ANONYMOUSLY button, or you can
submit a User Name and Password.
Your choice of which method of access you use depends on whether you have a
need to save your Search Strategies, by submitting a User Name and Password
this facility will be available, with IP access it will not.'
And on their webpage:
'The full Cochrane Library is now available free to endusers in the
following countries:
* Finland (funded by Duodecim Medical Publications)
* Ireland (funded by The Health Research Board and The Research and
Development Board)
* Norway (funded by The Norwegian Agency for Health and Social
Welfare)
* United Kingdom (Provided by Update Software UK)'
I tried the logon anonymously button, which didnt work at the first couple
of attempts but did at the third.
