I've had a query from someone looking trying to write a quality standards
framework for their materials for *profs*, and trying to find examples or
guidelines from which to work. Either in print or or websites.
I've sent her some info (see below), but none of its spot on. Does anyone
know of other standards specifically for materials for profs?
Thanks!

In general, there are a load of sites/articles, with variable levels of
evidence base and usefulness! But they tend to be aimed at consumer health
information, rather than for professionals- I dont know of any just for
profs. So it may be down to selecting the bits you think are relevant for
profs from the consumer standards. Plus adding ones you think profs would
want (eg more listings of references/evidence base). I would thinks profs
would be particularly interested in currency and authority(tho that one is
debatable- a prof might write a scrappy leaflet!)
The exception are the BIOME guidelines, tho of course they are aimed at a
different purpose http://biome.ac.uk/guidelines/eval/
Have a look at http://www.hiquality.org.uk/ Both for their guidelines and
for the links section.
The one re treatment information for consumers which has some research
backing is http://www.discern.org.uk/ That's in the links section from CHiQ,
too. Which includes some other guidelines.
Hope this gives you a starting point.
