Sorry to voice this but is the loss of the ENB database REALLY a problem?
WE found that students tended to rely on it, and this concerns me, since I
felt it was very limited in the scope of what it indexed. I'd prefer they
used BNI or CINAHL. I'm sure some more informed colleague will enlighten
me, but was there anything on ENB that is NOT on BNI/CINAHL?

Apologies for crossposting
Thanks for that- it fits with the reply I've just had from the NMC (see
below). Glad its going somewhere, tho concerned re the updating.
I realise I'm coming to *expect* useful NHS-related agencies to shut down-
first the HEA then this!

I have just phoned the RCN Library who say there is going to be a press
release soon on this. It looks as if the RCN will host the site, but it
does not look like it will be updated as it was in the ENB days.

I dont know if this will help... I've forwarded it as it includes the email
in case any of you want to join in, but I will also forward their reply.
Hoping lis-nursing colleagues know it has moved and can give us a new url.
Because that would be the best news, but unfortunately not the most
likely...

The ENB database was a valuable resource for nurses (see below). It doesnt
appear to be on your website- can you please reconsider the decision to
drop
it? Nursing is meant to be an increasingly evidence based profession, and
this was an important contribution to that.
If it is elsewhere, please give me the url and I will forward it to my
fellow librarians.
Thank you.

Dear All,
apparently, the ENB appears to have ceased to exist

'Some of the website content (publications and research and development)
has been incorporated into the Nursing and Midwifery Council's site at

Has anyone seen it lately?
The old site redirects you to the RCN website but the trail goes cold
there.
I hope no one has kidnapped it because our first year nursing students
use it a lot!
