This one-day meeting is the fifth in a series on advances in clinical
knowledge management. It is being managed by the Knowledge Management
Centre University College, London and Cancer Research
Unit with support from OpenClinical, a resource for the field of
clinical knowledge management technologies, the British Medical
Informatics Society and the Health Libaries Group of the Association of
Librarians and Information Managers.
Workshop aims
To review practical advances in finding, capturing, processing,
distributing and using knowledge for the benefit of clinicians and
patients.
To bring together professionals from the clinical, library, computer,
cognitive and information sciences, medical informatics and information
retrieval disciplines to share techniques and insights
To introduce newcomers and survey the state-of-the-art in knowledge
management applied to health
Workshop scope
Current and emerging technologies to help bring high quality knowledge
to
clinicians or patients
Projects bridging the interface between medical informatics, health
libraries, information and computer sciences, health services research,
clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine
Knowledge systems likely to be of clinical value, e.g. guidelines or
systematic reviews on the Internet; integration of library resources
with clinical workstations; indexing or database publishing techniques;
computer-generated leaflets; decision support systems; clinical
hypertext, etc.
