Dear Lis-medical people,
You may remember my posting yesterday following Carol Roberts' attempts to
get the full text of an article in PDF format.
First of all it was not my intention to be facetious here.
The second point, made by most of those who e-mailed me, was that for people
working in public institutions it is difficult to order material by
creditcard. One respondent suggested the library user do this.
Thirdly it was made clear to me there is an agreement between CLA and the
NHS covering photocopying. I read the agreement but note that it does not
mention electronic copyng.
The underlying reason for my outburst is however my conviction that the
growing effciency of inter library loans and borrowing requests through
networks such as Lis-Medical lead to print runs going down and prices going
up (somethinging none of us want!).
