Dear Theo
You might have 30 years publishing experience but you have obviously never
worked in the NHS. Everything you order has to go through the hospital
finance or supplies department as an official order. To raise an order you
generally need an invoice. Publishers will not give you what you need
without payment, and orders take time to raise, as do invoices. NHS
librarians are not generally given departmental credit cards as a rule
I for one do not want to go down the road of paying for requests such as
this, using my own credit, then trying to claim it back. My salary is enough
of a joke as it is. And think about the audit implications!
