Typically, one should never reply before checking all of one's new e-mails.
No sooner had I sent my earlier message than the following arrived.
The attachment contains the much needed detail of the changes to quantity of
allowed photocopying.
Below is a copy of the Press Release from yesterday.

NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE RESPECTS COPYRIGHT
The National Health Service (NHS) Executive has signed a three-year
copyright licence with the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) on behalf of
health organisations, including NHS Trusts, Health Authorities and General
Practitioners.
The central licence will allow the health service in England to legally
photocopy, for clinical and information purposes, the wide range of books,
magazines and journals that are a valuable and vital resource in the
provision of better patient care. In return, authors and publishers will
receive fair recompense for this secondary use of their material.
The licence also covers the photocopying of photographs and illustrations as
a result of CLA's agency agreement with The Design and Artists Copyright
Society (DACS).
Commenting on the agreement, a spokesperson for the Information Policy Unit
(IPU) of the NHS Executive said, " ………………………….".
Frankie Hastings, CLA Business Development Manager responsible for licensing
the health service said: "I am pleased that the IPU and the NHS Executive
have demonstrated their commitment to copyright compliance within the NHS.
The central licence is practical and good value, and is flexible in
addressing the diverse needs of the NHS in England."
CLA and the IPU are working together to ensure all relevant NHS personnel
benefit from the advantageous terms of this licence.
CLA also licenses the Scottish Health Service, and are in discussion with
Northern Ireland and Wales.
